Promoting Diversity and Inclusion
We respect each individual's values and individuality, and by supporting each other, we aim to create an environment where everyone feels a sense of purpose within the organization and can perform at their best. Diversity is not simply a difference; it is the power to generate new ideas and innovation. UCHINO creates a workplace where people of diverse backgrounds, including gender, age, nationality, culture, and lifestyle, can thrive, contributing to the realization of inclusive and diverse values throughout society. Promoting Social Contribution Activities: We focus on various issues in daily life and continue to "connect hearts" through support activities. UCHINO values being close to people's lives through our products and delivering peace of mind and kindness. This passion is reflected in our social contribution activities, and we continue to engage in the following initiatives. 1. Support for Cancer Patients: Since 2009, we have partnered with the Iwate Hospice Association to produce and donate towel hats for patients suffering from hair loss due to side effects of chemotherapy. In 2013, we jointly developed a hat made from "marshmallow gauze," a material that is gentle on the skin. We continue to donate a portion of our product sales as support funds to support patients and their families. *Marshmallow Gauze Caps are available for purchase by anyone. ② Supporting Disaster-Affected Areas: We donate towels and other daily necessities to areas affected by earthquakes, heavy rains, and other disasters. We collaborate with local businesses and organizations to provide support tailored to the situation, creating emotional support. ③ Supporting Student-Led Volunteer Activities: We support student-led volunteer activities, such as home repairs in developing countries and supporting children's dreams through sports. We support the challenges of young people who represent the future and continue to work to spread smiles throughout society. ④ Supporting Little Babies (Low Birth Weight Babies): In response to the current situation in which approximately one in ten babies is born with low birth weight, we partnered with the general incorporated association, Kurumu, to deliver marshmallow gauze products to medical institutions and local governments. We support the creation of an environment in which all babies, the future of our generation, are blessed and can spend time with their families with smiles. Our commitment to "delivering comfort" goes beyond product development. Through activities that connect people and support the future, we will contribute to the realization of a richer and more kind society. The UCHINO Sustainability Project is an internal cross-sectional project that brings together volunteer members and works across departmental boundaries. Based on the corporate vision of "delivering beauty, health and relaxation to people all over the world through high-quality products and services, including cotton materials that are gentle on the environment, people and skin, and contributing to a stress-free society," we plan and implement specific measures to reduce environmental impact and contribute to society.
