(Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo / CEO: Uchino Nobuyuki) is pleased to announce that it has begun pre-sales of innerwear (4 types in total) made from skin-friendly Marshmallow Gauze® material, which was developed primarily by female shop staff, at its flagship stores, UCHINO TOUCH Roppongi Hills store and UCHINO relax Shibuya Scramble Square store, from Thursday, April 4th.　

Birth Story

[Potential needs discovered during casual conversations with customers]
・Many people wear underwear under their pajamas.
・Many people purchase our pajamas and clothing because they are looking for materials that are gentle on the skin and cause less irritation.

[Understanding the actual situation]
Through the feedback from customers and shop staff, we felt that the material of the underwear that comes into direct contact with the skin is important, and that there is a need for it among women who are prone to skin problems due to hormone balance fluctuations unique to women. In order to grasp the actual situation, we conducted an internal survey, and the results showed that about half of the respondents wear some kind of underwear under their pajamas.

[Product concept]
Innerwear made from skin-friendly materials and with a non-restrictive design that switches both your body and mind into an off mode, allowing you to sleep comfortably.

[Product development from a female perspective]
Based on the idea of ​​a shop staff member who thought, "It would be great if there was an innerwear like this!", we carefully selected materials and came up with the design and sewing. We made several prototypes and repeatedly monitored them, and made improvements based on real feedback on the feel of use and size. Among the many patented materials, marshmallow gauze is highly functional and by far the least irritating to the skin, so we created innerwear that doesn't feel tight.

Carefully selected 100% cotton marshmallow gauze (triple layer structure) is a unique material that is both functional and gentle on the skin. Marshmallow gauze products are sold in department stores in Japan, as well as Takashimaya Singapore and the long-established French department store Le Bon Marché, and have received high praise both at home and abroad.
