"We want to bring comfort to your everyday life"
To realize this vision, UCHINO is promoting a shift to sustainable raw materials, which are the starting point of manufacturing. By continuing to cooperate with suppliers, we aim to procure products that respect resource conservation, environmental conservation, safety, and human rights, and by continuing responsible manufacturing that will connect to the future, we will contribute to society and the global environment.
Aiming for 100% sustainable cotton usage

Many of our main products already use sustainable cotton from the US and Australia. We aim to continue to increase this ratio.Achieve 70% by the end of 2025 and 100% by the end of 2030is the goal.
We are committed to the future of cotton, striving to achieve both comfort and a choice that is kind to the environment and people's lives.
What is sustainable cotton?
Cotton is an essential material in our lives, but its cultivation requires a lot of water and pesticides, and it poses a significant environmental burden and poses significant challenges to farmers' livelihoods.
This is how the term "sustainable cotton" was born. While the definition varies depending on the country or organization, it has two common characteristics:
Reduce the burden on the environment Cultivation methods are practiced that reduce the use of water and pesticides and mitigate risks such as water shortages and soil contamination.
Fulfilling social responsibility By ensuring decent working conditions and fair wages, we address social issues such as child labor and improve the quality of life for our producers.
Through these efforts, sustainable cotton is not only "environmentally friendly," but also leads to "a future in which producers and their families can live in peace."
Sustainable cotton used by UCHINO
UCHINO uses sustainable cotton based on the following certifications and initiatives.

・Australian cotton
・Better Cotton
・Fair trade cotton
Differences from organic cotton
Organic cotton and sustainable cotton are often confused, but there are slight differences in their purposes.

オ ー ガ ニ ッ ク コ ッ ト ン The produce is grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, in accordance with strict certification standards and with cultivation methods aimed at environmental conservation and safety.
Sustainable Cotton This is a cultivation method that aims to minimize the burden on the environment while providing fair working conditions for producers and a sustainable production system.
In other words, it may be easier to imagine organic cotton as being for the environment and safety, while sustainable cotton is for making the environment and people's lives sustainable.
A series of small choices creates a great future
"We want to bring comfort to your everyday life"
Along with this aspiration, UCHINO's promise is to "leave no burden to the Earth or people of the future."
We will continue to take on challenges, believing that "small choices pile up to create big changes."

UCHINO Sustainability Project
This is an internal cross-departmental project brought together by volunteer members who work across departmental boundaries. Based on our corporate vision of "delivering beauty, health, and relaxation to people around the world through high-quality products and services, including cotton materials that are gentle on the environment, people, and skin, and contributing to a stress-free society," we plan and implement specific measures to reduce environmental impact and contribute to society. Utilizing each member's area of expertise, we aim to create new value from diverse perspectives.
